Health Care system
New Caledonia’s health care system provides a high-level of medical care thanks to its hospitals (both public and private), medical and social centers, and both public and private health professionals.
With the opening of the "Médipôle" in 2016, the island acquired a world class health facility, including a cancerology unit using state of the art treatment techniques developed in France.
In 2018 two other significant projects were built: the Nouville Private Hospital (PHP) and the North Hospital (CHN).
